FAQs

Osteopathy is a nationally recognised form of hands-on, allied health care that takes on a holistic approach to treatment. Osteopathy recognises the important link between the structure of the body and the way it functions. Osteopaths use a range of manual therapy techniques to focus on how the skeleton, joints, muscles, nerves, circulation, connective tissue, and internal organs function as a holistic unit.
-
The first part of the treatment involves history talking. This is comprised of specific questions relating to your injury, your general health makeup as well as your goals from treatment.
Your Osteopath will then perform some examination to try and uncover how you’re moving and which areas of the body need to be addressed.
The Osteopath will then explain what they think is going on and put together a treatment plan for not only this sessions but for the upcoming sessions.
Treatment will then follow with a combination of hands on treatment targeting pain relief and improved function.
Lastly, you can expect some take home exercises to perform as we try and get you closer to your performance goals.
Most of all, you can expect to be heard, cared for and have a clear understanding on your condition every time you come in for an appointment.

Our osteopaths are fully registered with AHPRA and trained to assess whether osteopathic treatment is appropriate for you. Your safety and comfort are always our first priority. -
Please bring or wear shorts and a sport bra for women. This allows us to make a thorough assessment whilst being able to analyse your movements much more clearly.
If you are not comfortable wearing a sports bra or removing your top, we always have gowns for extra comfort. Your Osteopath will always ask which you prefer before the session begins.
